Senior Truck Dispatcher

Ordering Base Inc. is a Philadelphia-based truck dispatching company founded in 2023. We support owner-operators and small fleets across the United States with load booking, rate negotiation, route planning, broker setup, credit checks, invoicing and 24/7 driver communication. Our dispatchers work load boards and broker networks every day so carriers stay loaded, paperwork stays clean, and money moves after delivery. We are hiring people who take ownership, communicate clearly, and treat every driver like a long-term partner, not a one-off load.

ROLE SUMMARY

Senior Truck Dispatcher: lead a carrier book, coach the desk, and own broker-level problem solving.

You are the senior operator on the dispatch floor. Beyond booking your own trucks, you raise the quality of negotiation, documentation and customer service across the team. You step in when loads go sideways, when newer dispatchers need coaching, and when broker relationships need a steady hand.

DAY-TO-DAY / SCHEDULE

On-site leadership role in Philadelphia. You will spend most of the day on the phone and in portals, with time blocked for mentoring, pipeline review and handoff with night shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Dispatch a senior book of owner-operators across multiple equipment types and regions.

• Build weekly plans around lanes, HOS, home time and rate goals, not just the next load.

• Negotiate complex or high-value freight and accessorials with brokers and shippers.

• Coach dispatchers on calls, rate math, documentation and escalation judgment.

• Resolve breakdowns, missed appointments, detention fights and service failures quickly and fairly.

• Monitor desk KPIs: RPM, deadhead, on-time pickup, claims and carrier satisfaction.

• Partner with sales and onboarding when new carriers join the company.

• Set standards for notes, rate-con review and morning/night handoffs.

• Represent Ordering Base professionally in difficult broker conversations.

• Help improve playbooks, templates and training for the dispatch team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of truck dispatching with a strong booking and retention track record.

• Deep knowledge of U.S. freight markets, lanes and broker practices.

• Proven ability to mentor or lead others under pressure.

• Excellent judgment, communication and conflict resolution skills.

• On-site in Philadelphia, PA; eligible to work in the U.S.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience managing 10+ trucks or a small dispatch pod.

• Familiarity with factoring, credit checks and accessorial claims end-to-end.

• Prior team-lead or assistant manager experience in logistics.
