COMPANY OVERVIEW

Ordering Base Inc. is a Philadelphia-based truck dispatching company founded in 2023. We support owner-operators and small fleets across the United States with load booking, rate negotiation, route planning, broker setup, credit checks, invoicing and 24/7 driver communication. Our dispatchers work load boards and broker networks every day so carriers stay loaded, paperwork stays clean, and money moves after delivery. We are hiring people who take ownership, communicate clearly, and treat every driver like a long-term partner, not a one-off load.

ROLE SUMMARY

Truck Dispatcher: keep owner-operators loaded, rates strong, and communication tight from pickup to delivery.

You will own a book of carriers (box truck, dry van, reefer, flatbed, hot shot and power-only as assigned). Your job is to find freight that fits their equipment and lanes, negotiate the best rate you can, book only what the driver accepts, and stay with the load until paperwork is clean and the next reload is lined up. This is a phone-heavy, accountability-heavy role for someone who likes winning for drivers every week.

DAY-TO-DAY / SCHEDULE

On-site in Philadelphia during business hours, with coordination across our night team for after-hours coverage. Expect a fast pace: multiple trucks, multiple brokers, and constant follow-up. You will use load boards, broker portals, phone, text and WhatsApp throughout the day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Search load boards and broker networks daily for freight that matches each carrier’s specs, weight, lanes and target RPM.

• Call brokers and shippers to negotiate rate, detention, layover, TONU and appointment windows before booking.

• Present clear options to drivers (miles, rate, apts, commodity, notes) and book only after they approve, no forced dispatch.

• Review every rate confirmation for accuracy and send complete load details to the driver before they roll.

• Confirm pickup and delivery appointments; update ETAs when plans change.

• Run proactive check calls and keep brokers informed on delays, weather, detention and service issues.

• Plan reloads before empty to reduce deadhead and protect weekly revenue.

• Coordinate with onboarding when a carrier needs a new broker packet mid-week.

• Work with billing so PODs and invoices are submitted quickly after delivery.

• Document notes so teammates can cover your carriers when you are offline.

• Protect carrier relationships: honest communication, realistic ETAs, and no surprises on the rate con.

• Hit desk goals for booked loads, RPM quality and on-time performance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of truck dispatching, freight brokerage or trucking operations experience strongly preferred.

• Confident on the phone; able to negotiate and follow up without being pushy or unclear.

• Working knowledge of load boards, rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs and basic FMCSA concepts.

• Organized multitasker who can manage several trucks without dropping details.

• Professional written English for texts, emails and load notes.

• Able to work on-site in Philadelphia, PA and eligible to work in the United States.

• Reliable schedule adherence and willingness to coordinate with night coverage when loads run late.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience dispatching box trucks, dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, hot shots or power-only.

• Bilingual English/Spanish.

• Existing broker relationships you can ethically bring into the workflow.

• Prior owner-operator or small-fleet support experience.
